Bradford garden centre to hold summer BBQ food and drink event

Freshly cooked meat products and Yorkshire produce including craft beer will take centre stage as a Bradford garden centre prepares to host a BBQ tasting event.

In celebration of the seasonal sunshine, Tong Garden Centre will hold a BBQ tasting event between 11am and 3pm on June 30 at its Tong Lane site.

The event will see the in house butchery team collaborating with the food hall manager, Andrew Tyers, and the outdoor leisure team to cook a range of Yorkshire meat and poultry on the new Everdure Furnace BBQ, designed by leading chef Heston Blumenthal.

Tong food hall manager Andrew Tyers said: “The fabulous weather has seen more and more of us barbequing and our innovative team of butchers have introduced so many tasty new BBQ food options. This will be a great chance for customers to sample new ranges as well as our bestsellers. We are known for our delicious range of sausages, so come along and try Welsh Dragon, Old English and Cracked Black Pepper as well as homemade Lamb and Mint and Pork and Apple burgers, succulent chicken wings and beautifully barbecued ribs glazed in fantastic flavours including piri piri and hot and spicy.

“Everything will be available to take home from our Food Hall so that you can replicate the Tong BBQ experience at home and our butchers Andy, Mark and Mick will be on hand to answer all your BBQ cooking questions, getting you all set for a summer of delicious food!

“It promises to be a fantastic day trying our best selling BBQ treats, so we do hope you can join us!”

The BBQ food will be complemented by tasters of Wold Top Brewery’s award winning Yorkshire ales, Maards Marinades made locally in Bradford plus chutneys and sauces from the Cottage Delight range.
