Exciting and productive year at Grange

It doesn’t seem all that long ago that we were preparing for last years show and over the past 12 months we have had a very exciting and productive year. To top all of that, Grange has proudly celebrated its 140th birthday and has marked this momentous milestone with a series of exciting competitions, which Grange intend to continue at GLEE and will run for the rest of the year with some great prizes and promotions to give away.

Nick Carter Sales & Marketing Director of Grange, said: “We have had a fairly mixed season, with sales of fencing holding their own, some of the value added ranges have been slow to start but this I feel reflects the current market conditions at this time.”
Nick continued: “The old adage is that you can’t sell it if you haven’t got it certainly stands up, those customers who have maintained their stock levels are selling the product.
Like everyone else at the moment the rocketing fuel costs are having a major impact but we are absorbing the cost of this for now, but unfortunately there may come a time when these increases have to be passed on to the customer.”
As the number one fence panel manufacturer in the UK Grange are proud of their history and after 140 years of service within the industry their experience, products and quality of service cannot be beaten. Grange produces over 2,900 miles of fencing and trellising each year and with that wealth of experience its no wonder Grange are the preferred supplier to the major industry distributors.
With concerns over the environment Grange were the first company within the industry to embrace the green issue long before it became fashionable by ensuring that all of their timber products are FSC certified and sourced from forests which are environmentally well managed. In 2003 Grange opened a new site in Hull, which resulted in savings of over 800,000 truck miles per annum. Combine this with better design, the maximisation of material, and the conversion of waste, and you will see that Grange are not only lean, mean and clean, but determined and committed to reducing their carbon footprint.
Nick went on: “Because of our passion here at Grange, coupled with our expertise, we are proud of our vision and insight to confidently predict what the consumer will demand; naturally we are the forerunners and major trendsetters in the innovation and design of new and exciting products to be launched into the market place.”
This year is no exception as we prepare to launch a new range of landscape sleepers, once again acknowledging the green issues by choosing used untreated railway sleepers to combat the effects of hazardous pesticides. “Grange are also launching a new extended range of composters, which again tackles up to the minute environmental issues regarding waste and recycling.
Nick continued: “This year has also seen further development of our successful Flower Walk (circular pergola), launched earlier this year and featured at the Chelsea Flower Show, the Cornwall Show, the Ideal Homes Show and more recently at the BBC Gardeners World Live Show.”
The Flower Walk has become a very desirable and much sought after product, gaining great interest with designers and key industry people alike. This year will be no exception as we plan to launch yet another show stopper. Some new and exciting pergola designs sold in kits and a new and exciting gate range will also be making their GLEE show debut.
In conclusion Nick said: “We are looking forward to the GLEE Show and meeting up with existing and new customers, we are motivated and confident that the momentum we have achieved so far this year will continue, GLEE is the perfect platform to showcase our ever expanding range and we welcome your visit to our stand.”
