For the second summer in succession, STV opted to turn its traditional pre-season sales meeting into more of a “family gathering”, with a marquee and bar-b-que, and invitations to all staff and contractors to come along and see what’s in store for this growing business in 2016.
Around 60 people gathered at the STV site on August 20th, and the company laid on workshops throughout the day to give insight into IT developments, social media, export sales activity, and its ongoing investment in warehousing and inventory management.
All admin and despatch activities were put on hold for the day and the STV commercial team were able to socialise with its sales agents from around the country, enjoy the sunshine together, as well as get a preview of a raft of new product development and marketing initiatives underway for the 2016 season.
Ed Deane, Business Development Manager said: “The feedback was tremendous. We were all very pleased with the day and we’ve come away with high expectations for the new season. Commenting on marketing and product development, Ed said: “The Big Cheese Ultra Power re-brand will definitely add a lot of value to rodent control sales in 2016. And we are expecting to see some exciting new business opportunities result from the introduction of The Buzz citronella range as well.”
Turning to specific products, Ed said that the easy-to-use Fruit Fly Trap from Zero In is a sure-fire winner: “It’s poison-free and cleverly disguised as a piece of fruit, so you can place it unnoticed in a fruit bowl,” he say. The magic apple is priced to sell at £5.99 and the STV sales team anticipate meeting a ready demand when first deliveries are made later this year.
STV Live Pest-Free is the new marketing slogan adopted for 2016 and the phrase will be on the front of pack for all new-season NPD. STV is set to exhibit at both Spoga Gafa, in Germany, and at Glee in the next month.
