SOLEX Update
Published:  01 May, 2008

Over the last few years the garden furniture business has become far more fashion orientated, with the end user looking to recognised brands such as Barlow Tyrie to produce high quality, well designed products that reflect their aspirations.

The initiative taken by the creation of the Solex show will certainly help our industry move forward in a positive manner. The Barlow Tyrie consumer looks for product throughout the season, and many buyers no longer view garden furniture as a purely seasonal product. Our furniture is increasingly being used indoors as well as out, with the result that our UK retail customers are now happy to display products throughout the year.

Solex provides a high visibility platform for buyers to focus on this rapidly expanding market and make informed decisions regarding the key brands to stock for 2009.

Barlow Tyrie has been in continuous production since 1920 and is probably the UK's oldest high quality garden furniture manufacturer. Alongside our comprehensive traditional teak ranges, new products in stainless steel, aluminium and synthetic woven have been added in response to demand, particularly for more design-led contemporary ranges.

Our woven furniture, designed by Vladimir Kagan, has proved very popular both here in the UK and worldwide.

Teak products still play an important part of our product mix with new designs with a more modern feel being added on a regular basis. A selection of all these will be displayed at Solex, demonstrating Barlow Tyrie's undoubted pedigree.
