Klondyke Group Ltd buys Lady Green Garden Centre
Published:  01 May, 2008

Klondyke Group Limited, owners of Klondyke Garden Centres and Strikes Garden Centres, the largest family-owned garden centre group in the UK, are pleased to announce the acquisition of Lady Green Garden Centre at Ince Blundell, Merseyside.

This follows the acquisition of Garden Centres of Cheshire and Holland Arms in 2007 and increases the total number of garden centres in the group to 24.

Commenting on the acquisition Bob Gault, Chairman of Klondyke, said: "We are very pleased to acquire Lady Green, one of the best garden centres in the UK, which has been an extremely well run family-owned business for over 20 years.

"The acquisition further strengthens our position in the north west and has a very strong horticultural offer which fits well with our own operation."

Philip and Sue Allison, the former owners, are pleased to welcome the new company to Lady Green.

Philip commented: "We are confident that the style and ambience of the centre will be retained by Klondyke, enabling Lady Green to preserve its individuality for its customers and to maintain its highly regarded, national status within the industry.

On a personal note, we would like to thank all of our past customers and friends and hope they will continue to support and enjoy Lady Green in the future. We can now retire, happy in the knowledge that our efforts will be appreciated in the years to come."
