Canes for all walks of life
Published:  01 January, 2008

Classic Canes will exhibit its widest ever range of walking sticks, folding canes, seat sticks and umbrellas at this year's Spring Fair, from February 3rd to 7th 2008, at the NEC, Birmingham, including items to suit all ages and all budgets.

This specialist family business now supplies over 500 different products, from simple chestnut crooks to fine silver dress canes. Classic Canes also grows and manufactures many rustic, wooden walking sticks in its Somerset woodlands; a charming and unusual feature of the business which retailers enjoy touring at the company's annual trade open days.

Many walking sticks are bought as presents. Charlotte Gillan, Partner, explains: "A Classic Canes walking stick, perhaps with a cheerful floral pattern or an elegant derby handle, makes an excellent gift for anyone who needs to use a walking stick or folding cane but does not want to sacrifice their sense of style or fun.  Although they are functional items, our sticks are smart accessories too.

"Many sticks are also bought by of collectors of canes. These might be traditional dress canes, polished horn country sticks, modern crystal-set canes, or novelty canes such as those featuring an animal or concealing a glass phial."

With so many models from which to choose, many customers place great faith in the expertise of the Classic Canes partners and staff. Friendly, knowledgeable advice is freely given on the most appropriate models for a particular retailer to stock and on the successful display and marketing of walking sticks. Retail prices start at around £7, with many items retailing for between £10 and £25.

Classic Canes will exhibit its full range of products at the International Spring Fair in Hall 20, Stand L18.
