Grow your own in a one-stop-shop range
Published:  20 September, 2008

The revolution in "grow your own" is here to stay, and with this in mind Westland Horticulture has designed a complete sales package to deliver the perfect in-store potato and vegetable shop aimed at driving link sales across the grow your own category.

The vegetable shop allows retailers to link growing media, plant foods, seeds and growing aids, such as the potato grow bag. The Unwins vegetable range and Westland sundries range is offered in pre-merchandised units, therefore setting up the shop is simple and time-effective.

Headlining the new vegetable shop is the Unwins seed potato range. Presented in GIMA award winning pre-merchandised units the Unwins seed potato range is bigger and better than ever. New for 2009 is the Have a Grow seed potato range, a range to encourage all types of gardeners to grow their own potatoes.

Simply packaged and retailing at £1.99, Have a Grow is delivered fully pre-merchandised and includes full POS packaging.

Also new for 2009 is the Unwins Vegetable Pack Collection, a pre-merchandised collection offering the best selling onions, garlic, shallots plus asparagus, rhubarb and artichoke - just to name a few.

"Grow your own is having a growth explosion, especially with school curriculum activities encouraging planting at home," said Keith Nicholson, Westland Head of Marketing.

"We have designed our 2009 range so that all retailers can create a vegetable shop in-store. It is laid out very clearly for customers looking to grow their own. It is time efficient so they can make a choice of what seeds they want to plant and it enables the retailer to link together all the key products necessary to ensure success, all from one supplier," he added.

The Westland vegetable shop is available with a full POS package and shop store layout guides, plus information on link products.
