Smart Solar right on target
Published:  14 November, 2008

Smart Solar, the solar garden product specialist, has won an important new contract in the USA with Target Corporation. Target is the USA's third largest retailer with around 1,500 stores in 47 states and a turnover of over $70 billion.

Following successful product tests earlier in the year, Target has taken nine solar lighting products from Smart Solar into its full range for 2009, with four solar water features being tested in the spring. The lighting products comprise a number of solar lanterns including mosaic glass and ceramic spheres that make an attractive lighting pattern on the table top. Target will also be selling a selection of Smart Solar's solar powered string light sets which are popular for decorating trees and shrubs.

Jonathan Stobart, Smart Solar's Managing Director, commented: "This success with Target reflects the demand for well designed solar garden products as people become more eco conscious. The other benefit is that solar powered products for the garden do not require any mains wiring, which makes them easy to use. We are delighted to have won this order in the USA which is already an important market for us."
