New vegetable compost and planter from Vital Earth
Published:  14 November, 2008

As part of the expansion of its organic, peat-free range, made from recycled garden waste, Vital Earth has launched Vegetable Compost.   This brings the total range to over 30 products, making it the only one stop shop for 100 per cent natural, 100 per cent sustainable and 100 per cent UK-sourced green growing media.

Developed specially for the container cultivation of vegetables and salads, Vegetable Compost has high levels of humates: natural biostimulants which provide a reserve of water and nutrients and stimulate robust growth. Organically-bound nutrients are also released gradually by biodegradation and cation exchange, reducing the need to feed and encouraging growth, whilst the large reserves of potash are particularly good at boosting flavour.

Vegetable Compost also has an excellent shelf-life of more than 12 months thanks to the slow-release nitrogen properties of Vitalizer®, Vital Earth's unique growth booster which carries the memorable strapline, "The Aphrodisiac for Plants"®.  Vegetable Compost comes in 60 litre and 25 litre packs with rrps of £5.99 and £3.99 respectively.

Also, as part of this expansion, Vital Earth has launched a Planter. Developed specially for container gardening, the Vital Earth Planter has high levels of humates: natural biostimulants which provide a reserve of water and nutrients and stimulate robust growth. Organically-bound nutrients are also released gradually by biodegradation and cation exchange, reducing the need to feed and encouraging sustained growth.  Planter's large reserves of potash are particularly good at boosting flavour.

The new Planter also has an excellent shelf-life of more than 12 months thanks to the slow-release nitrogen properties of Vitalizer®. Vital Earth's new Planter is a 50 litre size and has a rrp of £4.49.

Commenting on Vital Earth's one-stop shop range, Managing Director Steve Harper said: "The Vital Earth range is now the most credible and comprehensive ‘green' offer in the compost, growing media and fertilisers market. It covers all the obvious retail essentials and includes specialist products like Vegetable Compost, tapping into consumer demand."

Vital Earth products are all 100 per cent recycled, and made entirely from composted green materials and co-products of the forestry and food industries. Every pack bought represents a reduction in society's landfill needs.
