Unwins team up again with Andrew McIndoe
Published:  14 November, 2008

Unwins has again teamed up with award-winning gardening designer and horticultural expert Andrew McIndoe for a book on vegetables that literally takes readers from the garden fork to the dining fork.

"Grow Your Own Vegetables" is a 120-page full-colour A4 book that covers all the common and some of the lesser known vegetables. It starts with soil preparation and ends up with recipes and serving tips.

"The book is an A to Z guide and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing consumers with everything they need to get growing," says Catherine Matthews, Unwins Product Manager.

"Vegetable seed sales have been very high this year. There are waiting lists for allotments and grow your own has been given an unexpected boost by the credit crunch as more people develop vegetable gardens."

Unwins has also introduced for 2009 an effective and simple way of supplying a one-stop shop, providing gardeners with everything they need to get growing from seed potatoes to organic vegetable growing compost.

"Our new Grow Your Own Vegetables book is the perfect link between the Unwins and Westland brands focusing on growing media and fertilisers all at the one point of sale," adds Catherine.
