Retail Digital Networks Ltd extends its reach to over 6 million people by joining forces with the Blue Diamond Group
Published:  09 January, 2009

The Blue Diamond Group, the award winning Guernsey based owner of 12 Garden Centres, have appointed Retail Digital Networks Ltd (formally Simply Digital Networks Ltd) to create bespoke TV coverage for its centres. Retail Digital Networks Ltd, the company behind ‘Gardening TV', the hugely successful in-store channel currently broadcasting in over 45 garden centres throughout the UK and Ireland, will design and manage ‘Blue Diamond TV'.

Now in its 3rd year, ‘Gardening TV' has become a nationwide success in the UK and is the only product of its kind to be officially accredited by the Garden Centre Association. With support also arising from some of the most influential names in the UK gardening industry, ‘Gardening TV' is going from strength to strength. Early in 2009 all 12 of the Blue Diamond Group garden centres will have the channel installed, increasing the size of the network on garden related content to an average monthly footfall of over 6 million people.

Alan Roper, the Managing Director of Blue Diamond said:

‘We like to innovate and are always looking at ways to keep customers informed about latest products, garden styles and advice. Having our own TV channel is an ideal way to convey that information. It sits perfectly with our focus and determination to offer the highest levels of service. Content will be updated on a day to day basis allowing us to communicate with our customers, whilst enjoying the benefits of the national advertising campaigns which roll out on Gardening TV, helping us to promote products directly at the point of sale'.

Daniel Anders, Chief Operating Officer for Retail Digital Networks Ltd said:

‘We are delighted to be working with the Blue Diamond Group as they own some of the finest Garden Centres in the UK'. Blue Diamond TV will be operated using the 3M content management system and when all 12 garden centres are installed we will have extended our digital TV reach to an average monthly footfall of over 6 million people'.

As with Gardening TV an average of six 40" screens will be installed throughout each garden centre, including within the restaurant and at the checkout. Aside from bespoke content specific to each centre, the channel content also includes seasonal gardening tips presented by Charlie Dimmock, a gardening quiz, news and weather, generic seasonal content and national advertising campaigns.
