After 10 years at the helm of leading barbeque company Weber, MD Janet Ellison has announced she is to step back from the day-to-day running of the business and take on a new role as business consultant.
An integral part of the Weber team for over 28 years and managing director since the inception of the UK subsidiary in 1998, Ellison has appointed accomplished commercial manager John Cooper as the company's new MD.
Cooper has amassed over 25 years sales and management experience, most recently as director of UK sales for gardening brand Hozelock Ltd and brings with him a wealth of business skills and a proven track record.
Commented Ellison: "I've had some wonderful experiences over the past 28 years and will be leaving with some very happy memories, having built up some fantastic relationships, however the time is now right to take a step back. I'm pleased to hand over to John, who I'm confident has the dynamism and the skills to continue to drive the Weber brand forward."
Ellison will continue to work with the Weber team in her new role as business consultant - ensuring a seamless transition.
Said Cooper: "I'm delighted to be taking over the reins of such a fantastic and well respected brand. Janet has built a passionate and committed team and she's a hard act to follow but I'm looking forward to further developing the brand and making the most of the enormous potential that the new and future range extensions have in the UK & Eire."
