CELEBRITY horticulturalist and singer Kim Wilde has been helping celebrate the launch of a new Dunweedin' production plant, in Cheshire. The new facility marks a major boost for Dunweedin' - the company behind a range of revolutionary recycled garden landscaping and playground products.
Kim, who has supported Dunweedin' since 2006, helped celebrate the occasion by planting a tree at the new site in Middlewich, on Thursday November 13. The multi-million pound production plant is part of a special partnership that has been forged between Dunweedin' and independent recycling group SITR. As part of the partnership, Dunweedin' will see a dramatic increase in production of its popular garden chippings range, which are made from 100% recycled rubber tyres. SITR has committed to invest £4million in the creation of Europe's most modern tyre recycling plant - and will become the key UK manufacturer of Dunweedin'. The alliance will ensure Dunweedin' will be able to meet the increasing demand for its successful product range - now stocked by retail giants including B & Q and Focus DIY .
Bob Jones, of Dunweedin', said: "Over just a few short years Dunweedin' has become one of the most exciting new products for gardening and landscaping. "SITR is the largest independent recycling group in the UK and we are delighted by their commitment to the Dunweedin' brand and the potential it has across the UK and the rest of Europe."

Dunweedin' has an incredible year ahead. The new production plant will help to increase capacity to service retailers - both on the high street and independents. This increase will also be supported by a major marketing campaign to increase brand awareness and drive business into garden centres. Bob Jones added: "This is a key time to be part of the Dunweedin' success story: and garden centres and our stockists are set to benefit from a major promotional campaign over the next year.
"We are concentrating on giving added value to stockists - driving customers to stores and positioning Dunweedin' as a ‘must have' for the garden." SITR's plant in Cheshire is the first of six planned for the UK with a further expansion to the Continent within 2 years.
