Scotts Miracle-Gro is launching a range of insecticides under the BugClear ULTRA brand name that gives contact and long lasting systemic control of vine weevil, scale insects, lily beetle, red spider mite, leaf miner and thrips as well as the usual whitefly, aphids, caterpillars and beetles.
The new active ingredient, acetamiprid, will be marketed in various forms including a concentrate spray, a ready-to-use spray, a vine-weevil drench and a slow-release solid spike that feeds plants and controls bugs for up to three months. The bugs controlled will vary, depending on the method of application, but simple point of sale charts will quickly clarify selection.
Two new products under the BugClear Fruit and Vegetables name will control pests on all edible plants. The concentrate contains rape seed oil.
A new systemic fungicide, triticonazole, will also be introduced as FungusClear ULTRA for Flowering Plants to control powdery mildew, blackspot, rust and other common diseases.
