Organic, peat free compost manufacturer, Vital Earth, all of whose products are made by recycling garden waste, has concluded a very successful 2008 with two accolades for environmental excellence, both from outside the industry.
In the 15th International Green Apple Awards for Environmental Best Practice, organized by The Green Organisation, the independent environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world, Vital Earth was acknowledged as an ‘International Green Hero', automatically putting it forward to the RSA European Business Awards for the Environment. The Green Apple Award was presented to managing director, Steve Harper in a ceremony at the House of Commons. In a separate environmental tribute, Vital Earth was also Highly Commended in the Best Environmental Business Category of the annual Green Business Awards, run by publishers, Haymarket to highlight and reward leadership on environment, sustainability and climate change by British companies.
