GCU - October 2009
Published:  06 October, 2009

GLEE is the number one, annual, international trade event for the garden, pet and leisure industries and the only show covering the full spectrum of retail opportunity for these markets. Offering three days of profit-boosting inspiration across seven core product sectors, the show brings together thousands of buyers and suppliers from around the world each year. Combining the biggest selection of new products, global brands, innovation and exclusive visitor features GLEE is the place to build relationships with new and existing buyers.

‘GLEE Garden' could be found in Hall 5 covering products in the Nursery, Machinery, Garden Care and Retail Services, Home and Gift sectors. GCU made its mark here, generating a lot of interest among visitors and exhibitors - we spotted a fair few of you reading our latest issue throughout the show!

Hall 5 was also home to Westland, its stand full to the brim with visitors checking out the new Plant Rescue range and much more besides. Find out how the show rated in our interview with Sales Director Keith Nicholson.

Hall 4, meanwhile, showcased GLEE Landscaping and combined inspiring displays and ideas with the raw building materials that are needed to create the most impressive layouts, structures and designs. Visitors came to source trend setting products and ideas in stoneware, statuary, terracotta pots, gates, greenhouses, paving, timber, and decking, walling and garden structures from hundreds of suppliers.

Hall 3a formed the GLEE Leisure Hall, displaying the most luxurious, must-have conservatory and outdoor furniture, together with leisure and outdoor accessories including the latest lines in fire pits and bowls, wooden furniture and BBQs.

A must for the pet and aquatics retailer, GLEE Petindex could be found in Hall 3, covering a diverse range of products including pet food, health care, bedding, leads, collars, toys, treats, books, cages, terrariums, aquariums, gravel, pumps, filtration systems, aquatic plants and bird food. It is the annual platform for major brands and new trends, such as the growing sectors of pet "well-being", specialist nutrition, and fashion and luxury lifestyle products.

A staggering 37 free seminars, demonstrations and discussion forums were also on offer this year as part of GLEE's renowned seminar programme located in The Hothouse (Hall 5) and Petindex Seminar and Grooming Theatre (Also Hall 5).

This issue is pretty much devoted to GLEE.

Enjoy!
