Fresh injection of interest to Roundup sales
Published:  01 February, 2008

A new pressurised pump sprayer delivery system and a new product to kill standing trees, tree stumps and Japanese Knotweed have been added to the Roundup family of weedkillers for 2008. This brand-leading weedkiller will also be supported with a £1 million nationwide TV advertising campaign to drive sales of existing and new products.

A totally new product called Roundup Tree Stump & Rootkiller has been fully approved to kill standing trees, recently cut tree stumps, Japanese Knotweed and other deep rooted and woody weeds. It is a super concentrate liquid formulation of glyphosate that is recommended for killing and controlling unwanted weeds and brushwood - just what's needed by gardeners since weedkillers containing ammonium sulphamate have disappeared.

The marketers of Roundup in the UK, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, will be mounting a huge PR campaign to highlight the unique benefits of Roundup Tree Stump & Rootkiller in the war against Japanese Knotweed in British gardens and allotments. They anticipate a host of recommendations for the product on radio, gardening magazines, home interest titles and from the gardening pages of national and local press.
