Somerset garden centre launches online service
Published:  01 February, 2008

One of Somerset's leading independent, family-run garden centres has launched a new website containing free gardening advice and an online mail order service for customers.

Monkton Elm Garden and Pet Centre, which is located just off the A38 at Monkton Heathfield between Bridgwater and Taunton, will offer shoppers from all over the county and the country the chance to get information and buy products via its newly revamped website www.monkton-elm.co.uk

Garden Centre General Manager, Norma Moore explained: "We are extending the Monkton Elm Garden and Pet Centre experience via our new and exciting online service so people can find out about the garden centre, get details on our free events that are going ahead throughout the year and also buy what they need for their garden from the comfort of their own home."

Norma added: "The new site has a clean, fresh look and includes everything from free gardening hints and tips to events listing and news. We are hoping our loyal local customers, as well as gardeners from all over the country, will log on to find out what is going on at the garden centre in 2008.

"We have a huge amount of horticultural heritage at Monkton Elm Garden and Pet Centre. The site was founded in 1912 as a commercial nursery and was bought by the current owners, the Bellman family in 1978.

"The garden centre opened in 1982 and all the family members are involved with the business. Our new website will allow not just people from the local area but from much further a field to tap into our excellent customer service, experience and expertise."
