Carbon footprints have worked their way up the agenda in all walks of life, including the garden centre industry which is working hard to maintain its reputation for being "green" and environmentally friendly and as the 2008 Garden Centre Association conference came to a close the message on everyone's lips was climate change.
Bents Garden & Home in Glazebury near Leigh is just one GCA member that is already taking action having identified five of its own footprints, Green Footprints; areas where - as a business - it believes it can make a difference to the world and its surrounding environment, helping to maintain sustainability and making it a better place to be.
Bents newly launched "Green Fingers to Green Issues" statement has been developed over the past two months to demonstrate the Centre's commitment to both the environment and social responsibility.
