Boyd, who has spent most of his garden retail career with Webbs, is leaving to take up an entrepreneurial opportunity within the garden centre sector.
Webbs Executive Chairman, Ed Webb, will take on direct managerial responsibility for all day-to-day operations in the garden centres at Wychbold; West Hagley and Ryton Gardens. Ed Webb said, “After nearly 20 years at Wychbold, Boyd has decided it is the time for a change and is venturing on a new exciting entrepreneurial opportunity. Both I and the family wish him every future success and are extremely grateful for his loyalty, hard work and commitment he has given to the business during his time here.” Boyd said, ”I’ve had the most fantastic time at Webbs working with a great bunch of people over the years and seeing the garden centres grow and flourish. But now I’m looking forward to the future with a new venture.” Boyd Douglas-Davies leaves the award-winning family firm on 8th April.
