The eLearning software, which is in line with the association’s new strategy, ‘Better Standards, Better Business’, will include internet-based modules applicable to all garden centre staff.
The GCA’s immediate past Chairman, Dennis Espley explained: “We are committed to helping members improve their businesses and as part of this we feel it is extremely important to provide garden centres with a resource that will ensure their continued professional development. “The eLearning tool will contain modules including product knowledge, customer service, manual handling and food hygiene. It will also be possible to personalise the package in the members’ own corporate identity with business specific modules.”
A costed proposal has been financed and compiled by the GCA in order to get the project off the ground and following significant support from member garden centres the project will proceed this year.
