Vital Earth launches ‘Chicken Poo’ fertiliser
Published:  04 July, 2010

Organic, peat-free compost manufacturer, Vital Earth, whose well-established green credentials are based on a core range made from recycled garden waste, is now entering the organic fertiliser market with a natural recycled chicken manure product, sourced exclusively from British free range hens. Strikingly and aptly named ‘Chicken Poo’, it has been rigorously researched with consumers proving its appeal to gardeners. It can be used as a fertiliser with wholly natural ingredients and is ideal for all kinds of vegetables, fruit, flowers, trees and shrubs, Vital Earth ‘Chicken Poo’ contains all the essential plant nutrients, all naturally derived.

The product is supplied in tub form for easy use and storage and comes in a 10 litre size with an rrp of £7.99. Launched at GLEE Vital Earth managing director, Steve Harper said, “This is very exciting for retailers and consumers. Using our established reputation for well-presented green agenda products, we are now opening up the fertiliser category to the Vital Earth approach. Recycled chicken manure is a well-accepted type of general-purpose fertiliser and by ensuring a free range source we are adding a whole new appeal. Add to that a striking and uniquely engaging style of presentation, applauded by consumers in qualitative research and we know we have another winner for the garden market.”
