AN award winning Doncaster bakery has been selected as a supplier to the food hall of a growing family run garden centre in the North West of England.
Warrington-based Bents Garden & Home will be retailing a wide range of gourmet pies, speciality cold cutting pies and quiche from The Topping Pie Company, discovered by its food buyers at a recent Farm Shop & Deli trade show.
The Topping Pie Company produces a wide range of handcrafted pies and quiche made to family recipes created by Maggie Topping at its South Yorkshire bakery and uses only British Red Tractor pork meat and locally sourced ingredients.
Bents’ new 10,000 sq ft food hall is a destination for foodies and features an extensive range of speciality foods, ingredients and freshly sourced products from both local and international suppliers with real provenance.
An integral part of the retailer’s expansion plans, the food hall will include a fresh deli, tapas bar, patisserie, bakery, fruit and veg, wine concession and butchers concession.

Company founder Roger Topping and his son Matthew have trained Bents retail staff on the story behind the products, how to cut and merchandise the pies in-store to ensure customers get the full enjoyment of their pies and quiche.
Bents will be retailing Toppings gourmet pies, including premium steak, steam mushroom and shallot, peppered chicken and smoked ham and award winning pork pies, including Scrumpy, Yorkshire Farmers, Game Pie, Huntsman, Chilli Pork Pie and a range of Dinky Topped pork pies.
