A focus on providing exemplary customer service in all areas at a destination garden centre outlet has resulted in a Bradford business being recognised in this year’s White Rose Awards for tourism.
Tong Garden Centre was awarded Highly Commended in the Outstanding Customer Service category of the awards for their initiatives to always put customers’ needs first.
The White Rose Awards, hosted by Welcome to Yorkshire, is a celebration of tourism excellence, and recognises businesses and achievements across 17 categories.
Tong co-owner Mark Farnsworth said: “We’re delighted to win the ‘highly commended’ award in the Outstanding Customer Service category.
“Exceptional customer service is at the heart of everything that we do at Tong and it is very rewarding for the team to see their efforts being recognised in this way.”
The judges said: “Management and staff at the garden centre are what most impressed the judges. Their warm welcome for all customers and the wealth of knowledge and useful tips that Tong’s expert gardeners pass on are hugely appreciated by its growing number of visitors.”

The team at Tong was also rewarded for its exceptional customer service at the Garden Retail Awards when it won the award for Customer Service Excellence earlier in the year.
