Decco raises over £5,000 for Greenfingers

Home improvement and garden wholesaler Decco has raised over £5,000 for the Greenfingers Charity at its Newton Abbot trade show dinner.

Decco chief operating officer Charlie Lacey presented a cheque for £5,175 to Boyd Douglas Davies – chief executive officer of the Hillview Group, on behalf of Greenfingers.

The trade show took place on October 10 at Sandy Park, Exeter, one of seven similar regional events held by Decco every year to support the independent market both in the High Street and in garden centre retail. The dinner was attended by over 200 guests including customers and employees of Decco at Newton Abbot, and many Decco suppliers.

Decco Newton Abbot manager Keith Willey commented: “We had a great night with generous contributions from our guests, including some fantastic contributions from Scotts, Neudorff, Hozelock, Crown, AkzoNobel, Spear & Jackson and Ronseal.”

Greenfingers Charity head of fundraising and communications Linda Petrons added: “We are absolutely staggered by the amazing amount raised. With more Greenfingers gardens in the pipeline this fantastic donation will certainly help to make a difference to more life-limited children and their families, who spend time in hospices across the UK.”
