Exclusively Electrical and Exclusively Housewares are working with the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) to encourage more of its members to attend this year’s shows.
HTA chief executive Carol Paris commented: “Many HTA members have seen excellent growth on housewares and cookshop departments. The Exclusively shows give them the opportunity to focus on this key area and see the latest products and trends in the marketplace.”
HTA members will receive a short briefing from the show about the product sector and be able to take a ‘Trend Tour’, given by the team from trend forecasters Scarlet Opus. In addition, they will be invited to attend the show’s industry summer party which always takes place on the first evening of the shows.
Exclusively show director Simon Boyd said: “Garden centre buyers have always attended the show, but we wanted to spread the word about the opportunities for retailing housewares and small domestic appliances (SDA) more widely amongst garden centres, and following a visit to the show last year by Carol Paris, we agreed to collaborate with the Association this year to actively encourage their members to attend.”
This year the Exclusively shows are aiming to give buyers a helping hand to search out and recognise ‘On Trend’ products – focusing particularly on Christmas 2016 and the spring/summer season for 2017.
“As two specialist shows we offer a depth and breadth of brands, products and suppliers that is very attractive to a great mix of retailers for whom SDA products and housewares range from the purely functional right through to ideal gifts,” Simon added. “We are sure HTA members will benefit from this quick, concentrated look at this product area.”
