Garden centres without cafés can join Macmilan coffee morning

Garden centres without cafés are being given the chance to participate in this year’s Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning thanks to tea and coffee equipment and product supplier Café Works.

Any retailers looking to host an event for the charity on September 30 can borrow equipment from the Shropshire-based provider of single serve coffee options, tea and coffee equipment and vending solutions.

Café Works boss Jacques Farmer explained: “We’re more than happy for garden centres to have one of our fully automatic Bean to Cup machines and to sell the coffee to raise funds for this wonderful charity.

Jacques Farmer from Cafe Works“We’re keen to hear from anyone interested as soon as possible, as of course the loan of our equipment is subject to availability and we anticipate this idea will prove to be very popular, as it is such an excellent cause to support.”

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which takes place this year on Friday, September 30, is Macmillan’s largest fundraising event for people facing cancer.

The charity asks people from across the UK to host their own coffee mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan.

Jacques (pictured) added: “Last year alone the organisation raised £25 million and this year they are aiming to raise even more, and we’re delighted to be able to help in whatever way we can.

“We’ve worked a lot in the sector and we understand garden centres do like to get involved in fundraisers like this. We thought if we could provide equipment to be able to assist any garden centre that doesn’t have its own café, then we’d be doing our bit too.”
