The Gardman sales team visited the almost completed 415,000 sq ft National Distribution Centre last week as part of the briefing for Glee and its 2018 growth plans.
The new warehouse, which is centrally located in Daventry, will reduce road miles by almost 20% and with the inclusion of environmentally friendly technologies such as solar panels and rain water harvesting, it will help the site achieve a BREAM ‘Excellent’ rating for environmental construction.
The site will also be home to the new Customer Centre that will showcase the portfolio of products from Gardman Wild Bird Care, lighting solutions and an expanding range of garden décor products along with the wide range of core gardening products.
Chief executive Pete Utting said: “2017 has been a very exciting year for Gardman with major developments now in place. We have upweighted our sales team with not only quality but also numbers, we have built this fabulous facility and we are launching 30 new concepts at Glee that, with our customers’ support, will build on the growth from 2017.”
