The GCA 2014 conference will be held at the Hilton Blackpool Hotel, which is located on the North Promenade Sea Front from January 26 until 29.
Iain Wylie, interim Chief Executive of the GCA, explained: “We have had lots of fun releasing clues about our new conference venue as part of our guess the venue competition and we’re pleased to announce 15 people guessed correctly and will receive a bottle of champagne in their room at the conference.
“The Hilton Blackpool Hotel is a great venue for the conference and meets all our needs, from excellent conference facilities to a vast function room for our evening entertainment. It also has an excellent facility for our Associates’ Exhibition.
“It has stunning views over Blackpool’s famous promenade and beach too. We are really looking forward to the 2014 conference at the new venue and hope lots of people will join us.”
The winners of the guess the venue competition are: Jill Nicholson from Gordale Garden Centre, Richard Pennell from Pennells Garden Centres, Boyd Douglas-Davies from Hillview Garden Centres, Peter Bensted from Polhill Garden Centre, William Blake from St Peters Garden Centre, Dennis Espley from Squires Garden Centres, Philip Mabon from Floramedia.
Ian Ducker from Langlands Garden Centres, Conna Powles from Haskins Garden Centres, Paul Cooling from Coolings Garden Centres, Philippa McKean from Van Hage, Trevor Pfeiffer from Garden Trade News, Adam Taylor from Taylors Bulbs, Deanna Vine from CSY and Maryanne Stokes from Maryanne Stokes were also successful.
More than 300 delegates from the nation’s leading garden centres, including independents and chains, are expected to attend the annual GCA Conference.
Iain added: “As always our conference will provide attendees with pertinent information on key aspects of the garden centre industry to assist members in achieving their business goals.
“The information shared will focus on a wide range of topics, including merchandising, marketing and management.”
