Head for the hills for hospice team challenge

A duo from Webbs, Wychbold, the award-winning Worcestershire garden centre, are tackling a 31 mile dawn to dusk walking challenge to raise money for one of the firm’s charities of the year.   Webbs Chief Executive Boyd Douglas-Davies and colleague David Lowe will be strapping on their boots to tackle the Worcestershire Way walk and hope to raise around £1,500 for St Richard’s Hospice. To sponsor the duo visit www.justgiving.com/boyddouglasdavies. David Lowe is also celebrating his 31 years working at Webbs by walking the 31 miles of the Worcestershire Way.

The event takes place on Friday 26th June.  Last year around 80 walkers raised £35,000 in sponsorship for St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester and the charity’s work caring for patients and families living with cancer and other life-threatening illness.

Hospice Fundraising Manager Tricia Cavell said, “We are delighted Boyd and David are taking part. Webbs are great supporters of St Richard’s and I’m sure they won’t be daunted by the challenge ahead. ”
“They will be walking through fantastic Worcestershire countryside with wonderful views along the high points. Anyone else who is interested in taking part can register now to ensure they have a place. That also gives them time to put in some training to make sure they can tackle those hills with ease!”

Once registered, all walkers will receive a complimentary copy of The Official Worcestershire Way Walkers Guide and sponsorship details. There will be frequent rest and watering stops along the route and the walk will be supported on the day by Worcestershire County Council Countryside service staff.
