Kelkay, the market leading manufacturers and distributors of premium products and materials to garden landscaping industry, took home the award for Garden Landscaping at the annual GIMA Awards 2014 for their Build Mate range. They were also finalists in the same category for the Chunkies and finalists in the Best Consumer Product Packaging category for the Build Mate packaging.

The Build Mate range, which was launched at Glee 2013, offers 16 building material products ranging from sand and cement, fix-a-post, concrete mix, building, sharp and kiln dried sand and 10mm and 20mm gravel, among others. Kelkay’s Build Mate range beat off fierce competition from other construction materials, paving, decking, building products, decorative materials and fencing to become the winners of the Garden Landscaping award.
Becoming finalists in the Best Consumer Product Packaging category, the Build Mate packaging met strict judging criteria, ranging from durability and waste management, to suitability for transport.
The Chunkies collection is a series of unique style stone that are suitable for contemporary and traditional gardens and patios, also being ideal for drives, paths and borders.
Judges included Will Armitage, chairman of the Garden Centre Association and managing director of Armitage’s Home & Garden, Mike Wyatt, editor of Garden Trade News, Dan Zinner, trading director of The Garden Centre Group, and other influential industry favourites.
