Last few days to benefit from extended early bird rate for Catering Matters – HTA Catering Conference and Dinner

Book now at to benefit from the extended early bird rate, which runs until close of play on 29 May 2015. The full conference package offers the best value but, with dedicated themes on each of the days, it is possible to attend just a single day, with prices held at last year’s rates.


Joining Boyd Douglas-Davies, CEO, Hillview Garden Centres Ltd, and talking about ‘Integrating catering into your garden centre offer’, will be Richard Henn of The Dutch Nursery, who will explain how they use events to encourage visitors into the garden centre and Café Dutch.


The panel Session on Day 1 will be around ‘What next for garden centre catering?’ Trevor Pfeiffer, Garden Trade News will chair a debate on the latest hot topics in garden centre catering, including what is new, whether to use concessions or not, chefs versus cooks, and waitress service versus self-service, amongst others. Joining Trevor will be Will Armitage, Managing Director, Armitage’s Home and Garden, Ron Bent of Bents Garden and Home, Helen Joyce of Thirsk Garden Centre, and Anthony Hester, Head of Restaurants at Dobbies Garden Centres.


The panel session on Day 2 will again be chaired by Trevor, Garden Trade News, and is a food-focussed debate covering the latest hot topics in garden centre catering, including family favourites versus new trends and the convenience of ‘grab and go’ offerings.  Our panel will be made up of experienced Catering Managers and Garden Centre owners who have dared to try something different, amongst others, including Tim Godwin, Fosseway Garden Centre, Guy Topping, Barton Grange, Joe Ainscow, Summerseat Garden Centre and Paul Cooling of Coolings Green and Pleasant Ltd.
