The Pick-Me-Up promo includes top-selling lines in high volume niches such as ant, wasp and flying insect control, as well value-added electronic insect killers and pest deterrents. “In common with other key garden suppliers, we’re facing a compressed selling season and want to do all we can to support our garden centre customers and maximise their sales potential,” says STV Managing Director, Edwin Allingham.
In spite of the difficult start to the season, STV traded at near record levels in April and is forecasting further strong sales growth for the next quarter, according to Allingham. “We’ve been helped out year to date by an extended rodent control season, as well as uplift from household pest problems such as clothes moth and bed bug,” Allingham says. “Last season saw unusually weak demand for both indoor and outdoor insect control. So we’re expecting year on year gains in both these areas, particularly on the basics such as aerosols, powders and traps.”
