SBM taking on the Great Garden Re-Leaf 20 mile walk

The SBM Life Science team is dusting off their trainers and stocking up on blister plasters to get ready for Great Garden Re-Leaf 20 Mile Walk on Friday March 17.

The sponsored walk, taking place in Cambridge, is in aid of Greenfingers, a charity dedicated to creating beautiful, well-designed outdoor spaces at children’s hospices for the children and their families and friends to benefit from and enjoy.

“We are delighted to give Greenfingers our support,” said SBM Life Science head Darren Brown. “Garden Re-Leaf Day is always a fixture in the calendar. When we heard this year involved pounding the streets in Cambridge, we couldn’t resist!”

To date Greenfingers has created 51 inspiring gardens and outdoor spaces in hospices around the country, and is planning seven more, four of which it is intended will be completed in the next 12 months.

Every garden costs an average of £50,000 to complete. Greenfingers is in desperate need of support so that many more children with life-limiting illnesses can enjoy the freedom of a safe, beautiful space while they in hospice care.

Darren added: “By taking part in this walk and by hosting other great fundraising activities, we hope to raise as much as possible for this worthwhile cause.”
