Seismic-Scruffs

Scruffs sponsored the charity volunteers of Article [25] to research new building technology for development projects in earthquake-affected areas. Held at the University of Nottingham where the project designers Linedota Architects set out to build the experimental prototype structure.
Provided with Scruffs workwear including hi-vis vests, the volunteers successfully worked on a new way to construct buildings that stand up to high levels of seismic activity. The plan now is to turn the research into reality in the small village of Kyomya East in Uganda around Easter 2009.
In Kyomya they will build a school, health clinic, and some houses for resident nurses.
