Stagecraft chosen for Barton Grange development

Stagecraft has secured a £300,000 contract to carry out the shop-fit element of an exciting new garden centre development in the North West being built by the Barton Grange Group.
Work is well advanced on the new centre on a 52-acre site on the A6 at Brock, close to the company’s current garden centre and hotel business at Barton, north of Preston. Once completed the existing garden centre will close to enable expansion of the hotel and conference centre.
The new £15 million  development will not only include one of the largest garden centres in the UK, but also an 80-berth canal marina, a chandlery, restaurant,  garden park and an arboretum.
Stagecraft’s fit-out is expected to last three months and be completed in readiness for the opening in early spring. To ensure work targets are achieved they have appointed P.D.H of Hereford to project manage this important contract.
Stagecraft is to fit out the internal retail area, including house plant sections, home decorations, gift area and checkouts, as well as the cold house and external plant area, which features a retractable roof covering the entire area.
Managing director Tom Davis said: “This is a very exciting project. We have worked with Barton Grange and M.A. Design of Coventry for the past 18 months to interpret their design ideas. The final design features traditional natural timber finishes with a potting shed theme to the outdoor plant area.
“This project underlines our ability to work in partnership with developers to produce innovative bespoke designs.”
