Trends and new products excite buyers at Spring Fair

Exhibitors across Spring Fair 2008 reported steady orders and high levels of interest in trends and new products, despite some caution from certain retailers as expected in the current ecomonic climate. Tens of thousands of quality buyers visited from across the UK and abroad, as solid business was written for the year ahead.
Alison Jackson, Managing Director for Spring Fair organisers Emap TPS, said: “We are pleased to have delivered another solid Spring Fair. Times are challenging for retailers and suppliers, and the only way to stay ahead is by constantly sourcing new ideas, new ranges and new ways to keep the offer fresh.
“Spring Fair 2008 has offered suppliers a contemporary platform to showcase their newest ranges alongside the best of the industry. Visiting retailers welcomed the considerable investment in the show’s presentation including the addition of directional content such as the Future Trends Stage, which attracted thousands of visitors.
“Many exhibitors reported better than expected orders and some year-on-year increases. For the first time, exhibitors were invited to re-book onsite. We are delighted that exhibitors have given a clear vote of confidence in Spring Fair with the 2009 event already more than 70 per cent re-booked.
“This gives us a whole year to attract new business, plan our continued investment in marketing and the look and feel of the show, as well as our digital offering, to ensure that Spring Fair is one of the top trade shows in Europe.”
